Pro wrestler Dani Mo returns to the Wrestling Mayhem Show studio with Sorg and Mad Mike for a conversation about stepping away from wrestling, returning with a renewed perspective and embracing every strange opportunity the business provides.

Dani takes the crew aboard her cross-country family adventure by train, traveling from Pittsburgh through Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and beyond. She talks about first-class Amtrak accommodations, observation cars, full meals, sightseeing, hiking through Yosemite, camping on the way to Las Vegas and seeing No Doubt at the Sphere. More importantly, Dani explains why disconnecting from wrestling—even briefly—helped her decompress and appreciate the experiences waiting outside the ring.

Back in wrestling, Dani discusses her acclaimed match with a visiting STARDOM competitor at Enjoy Wrestling, her desire to wrestle in Japan and the opportunities she has received to work with international talent. She also breaks down her unpredictable run in Juggalo Championship Wrestling, where she is expanding her character work, delivering longer promos, destroying cars, confronting Barnabas and navigating one of wrestling’s wildest fictional family dramas as a two-time JCW Women’s Champion.

Mad Mike reports from Madison Square Garden, including the energy surrounding CM Punk, the New York Knicks-themed celebration and a WWE show that sometimes felt like a televised house show built specifically for the local audience. The crew also discusses SummerSlam possibilities, Sami Zayn’s direction, Nick Aldis returning to the ring and the unseen wrestlers whose scheduled matches disappear whenever an authority figure creates a new main event.

The episode also features the first match announcement for Sorgstock, memories from Beastman’s Big Ass Birthday Bash, thoughts on WWE Unreal, questions about the value of Club WWE, AEW and STARDOM crossover, the G1 Climax and a spirited debate about roller coasters, wrestling-ring pools and the value of letting wrestling be fun.

News Stories and Topics Discussed

Mad Mike’s Madison Square Garden experience: Mad Mike compares the reactions for CM Punk and the New York Knicks celebration while describing the unusual atmosphere of a WWE television show created heavily around its host city.

CM Punk’s latest major moment: The crew discusses Punk’s return, championship victory and the difference between hearing a massive wrestling reaction on television and experiencing it inside the arena.

New York Knicks crossover: The hosts examine the Knicks references, celebrity involvement and why parts of the show were especially rewarding for local basketball fans.

WWE women’s tag-team speculation: The group considers whether the current champions are temporary and whether WWE could be building toward a SummerSlam program involving the Bella Twins.

What happens next for Sami Zayn: Mad Mike questions Sami’s current direction and whether he could be added to another major match rather than being left without a clear SummerSlam story.

Nick Aldis returning to competition: The hosts discuss Aldis moving from an authority role back into the ring, his extensive pre-WWE career and the importance of presenting him as a legitimate wrestler rather than merely an on-screen general manager.

“Card Subject to Change”: A joke about wrestlers being removed from suddenly rearranged television cards evolves into a pitch for a comedy series focused on the performers who thought they had a match before the main event was rewritten.

Mad Mike conquers the Royal Rumble arcade game: The crew revisits the game’s classic roster and attempts to guess which wrestler Mad Mike used to win. The answer leads to an enthusiastic appreciation of D’Lo Brown.

Dani Mo’s cross-country train adventure: Dani describes traveling with her family in first-class Amtrak accommodations, sleeping in compact rooms, visiting the observation car and experiencing freshly prepared meals during the journey.

Chicago, Seattle and San Francisco: The trip includes the Bean, Seattle’s Space Needle and gum wall, the redwoods, Alcatraz, Lombard Street, the Golden Gate Bridge and several of Dani’s signature travel handstands.

Disconnecting from wrestling: Dani explains how the trip allowed her to stop checking messages, ignore most wrestling responsibilities and return feeling more relaxed—even when several planned bookings were unexpectedly canceled.

Yosemite and dispersed camping: After leaving her family in San Francisco, Dani continues the adventure with a friend, tackles the difficult Mist Trail, earns a fire permit and camps while traveling toward Las Vegas.

No Doubt at the Sphere: Dani talks about seeing Gwen Stefani up close, buying an impressive amount of merchandise and finally reaching the concert that served as the trip’s destination.

Why travel matters: The group reflects on how seeing different regions, cultures and lifestyles can change a person’s perspective, even without leaving the United States.

Enjoy Wrestling and international competition: Dani looks back on her standout match with a visiting STARDOM wrestler and explains why she believes her recent performances against Japanese talent show that she is ready for an opportunity in Japan.

Dani Mo’s JCW evolution: Dani discusses developing a more aggressive and three-dimensional character, improving her extended promo work and becoming comfortable performing inside JCW’s deliberately chaotic environment.

The Barnabas family saga: Dani explains the “daddy issues” driving her JCW storyline, including Barnabas, an adopted rival, implied drug jokes, a damaged car and increasingly personal confrontations.

Two-time JCW Women’s Champion: Dani discusses working as champion while balancing recognizable babyface qualities with increasingly diabolical actions.

Learning through promos: Because much of Dani’s recent JCW work has involved storytelling rather than traditional matches, she is gaining experience in an area she considers challenging but necessary for reaching a larger stage.

Sorgstock’s first match announcement: Sorg officially announces Beastman vs. Gory in “The Big Bite-Off” for the No Limits Championship, reviving a match that could not happen during the previous special event.

The Sorgstock atmosphere: The crew previews an unconventional party-style wrestling event featuring strange concepts, visual gags, music and an intentionally loose approach to wrestling canon.

Beastman’s Big Ass Birthday Bash: Dani and Sorg revisit the themed decorations, fan activities, family involvement, weapons, cake and overall madness surrounding Beastman’s 40th birthday celebration.

Wrestling shows built around individuals: Beastman’s birthday event, Jack Pollock’s benefit and other personality-driven cards inspire a discussion about shows that celebrate a specific wrestler’s identity and creative vision.

Alternate versions of wrestling cards: Dani reveals that several wrestlers arrived at Beastman’s show expecting completely different stipulations, including a possible pillow fight and a thumbtack-and-door match.

Inflatable wrestling-ring products: An online advertisement for a wrestling-themed pool sends the hosts into a search for inflatable rings and possible future Sorgstock accessories.

Kennywood and roller-coaster bravery: Dani responds to allegations that she bullied Derek Dillinger into riding Phantom’s Revenge, leading to comparisons of Kennywood attractions and other intense coasters around the country.

AEW and STARDOM crossover: The hosts discuss Triangle of Madness, STARDOM championships and the potential for more interaction between AEW’s women’s division and Japanese wrestling.

G1 Climax viewing: Sorg shares his early enthusiasm for the tournament and Konosuke Takeshita while the crew repeatedly finds new ways to make the tournament’s name sound inappropriate.

WWE Unreal: Mad Mike discusses the behind-the-scenes series, including CM Punk quietly telling John Cena that he would miss him and Cena explaining the creative logic behind his deliberately frustrating WrestleMania performance.

John Cena and AJ Styles: The crew examines their tribute-filled match, the decision to use other wrestlers’ signature moves and backstage footage of Seth Rollins jokingly confronting them after they produced a difficult act to follow.

A crowded wrestling calendar: The group discusses competing events in Chicago, WWE’s plans surrounding WrestleMania week, possible New York events and how promotions may fill the space created by WrestleMania taking place outside the United States.

Club WWE: Sorg attempts to understand the subscription’s value, including exclusive merchandise, ticket access, workout content, personality-driven programs and John Cena’s “Unseen 17” concept.

Wrestling and major-league merchandise: The hosts consider how WWE’s relationship with Fanatics may make city-specific sports collaborations easier than similar partnerships for other wrestling companies.

“What We Learned” Segment Breakdown

Mad Mike

Mad Mike’s lesson comes from watching WWE Unreal. During CM Punk’s “Doctor of Punkanomics” segment with John Cena, Punk quietly told Cena, “I’m gonna miss you.” It was an emotional detail that was easy to miss during the original broadcast.

That revelation leads to a broader discussion about Cena’s creative intentions during his final run. Mad Mike notes that Cena’s explanation of the WrestleMania match closely matched the show’s earlier interpretation: the slow, frustrating and intentionally boring presentation was designed to make the audience reject that version of Cena.

Dani Mo

Dani says the week reestablished how fun and incredible wrestling can be. Wrestling creates opportunities to travel, meet unusual people and share memorable experiences with friends, family and people who may have only met that day.

Her central lesson is that performers can become so serious about wrestling that they fail to appreciate the moment. Beastman’s birthday show may not have been the largest event she has worked, but dancing with her family, watching her niece become involved and enjoying the atmosphere made it one of the most fun.

Sorg

Sorg initially learns that he still does not fully understand what Club WWE is offering subscribers.

His more meaningful lesson comes from Beastman’s birthday show and other wrestler-centered events. Sorg appreciates cards that allow one person’s personality, community and creative definition of wrestling to shape the entire presentation.

The conclusion: wrestling needs more “non-canon” shows—events where promotions and performers can temporarily escape normal story structures, celebrate people and try concepts that would not fit on a traditional card.

Chat Room and Additional Takeaways

The chat highlights the increasingly crowded wrestling calendar and the unusual “battle lines” created when several promotions schedule destination events in the same city or on the same weekend.

The closing conversation reinforces that the wrestling world is large enough to contain serious competition, personal celebrations, bizarre comedy, international crossover and experiences that exist simply because they are fun.

Big Question: What wrestler would you like to be quarantined with? (don't be creepy)

Marcus Mann joins the mayhem this week, which means it's likely we'll be talking very little wrestling and a bunch of John Cena. Thankfully we have Larry, Matt, Rizz, Mad Mike, and Sorg to keep the show rolling as we discuss:

We have Marcus Mann on the show - the guy who hasn't watched wrestling since September?

Welcome to the Young Justice episode?

Marcus Mann is sharing some thoughts on Brock Lesnar and Brock-being-Brock.

Anytime Marcus Mann watches a wrestling match, he has some psychology assessments thanks to Shirley Doe.

Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar are there for particular reasons in WWE. They are in a category of their own.

Liking our discussion about intergender wrestling? Join us for our panel.

Randy Orton walks a line all the time.

This is the time in the show when Marcus Mann tells us how amazing John Cena is.

Marcus Mann is not a fan of skinny Cena.

With Patreon in the Bank looming, we're looking to see if Marcus Mann can book a MayhemMania match WITHOUT John Cena (if someone uses an eliminator).

It's MayhemMania time. We can't wait to see what our crew books this week!

This week’s episode brought to you by Indy Wrestling US, Slice on Broadway, Occupy Pro Wrestling, and IndyWrestling Network!

It's that magical time of year when we put ourselves in Vince McMahon's shoes for MayhemMania. We've got Mad Mike, Larry, Farnsworth, Sorg, and Mainstream Matt in studio to talk about:

We're preparing for NXT to see some roster changes due to some call-ups.

205 Live has a new broadcast member in Aiden English.

We are headed into the royalest of rumbles with men's and women's Royal Rumble matches.

We're running down all of the places where you can find John Cena (or his voice). He's everywhere!

We are relying on Sasha Banks to save what could otherwise be a meh match with Ronda Rousey to make it amazing.

Ronda Rousey should be in NXT learning the ropes. She's doing okay where she is - but she'd be better if she were going through and learning the ropes.

We're blaming Smashmouth for so many things tonight.

We're talking some Hardcore Holly and Brock Lesnar.

Are we comparing Finn Balor to Hardcore Holly? Maybe.

We're running through our dark horse options for the Royal Rumble.

It's MayhemMania season - which means we're booking our dream matches.

This week’s episode brought to you by Indy Wrestling US, Slice on Broadway, Occupy Pro Wrestling, and IndyWrestling Network!
We're back from our holiday hiatus with Mad Mike, Larry, Mainstream Matt, and Sorg! And, there's so much happening this week. Between celebrating our podcast birthday to prepping for this year's Mayhem Mania we've got plenty of hilarity, including:

We're back after our holiday break - and we're officially a year older as we celebrate our birthday with Sorg and the crew.

We are enjoying Mad Mike's Becky Lynch shirt for the show tonight.

Mayhem Mania is coming up - and the playing field just changed. Things could get REALLY interesting this year.

Sorg is sporting his sweet Shawn Phoenix shirt for the show tonight!

There was a formal protest of sports entertainment that happened this evening.

Live production is tough - Sorg is speaking in his professional experience, of course.

It was great to see Friend-of-the-Show Britt Baker on the All Elite announcement.

Chris Jericho was the big reveal of the All Elite announcement.

We're speculating on who else we may see pop up in All Elite given the talent that appeared at the conference and some of the relationships we're aware of.

Mainstream Matt made it in time for some birthday cake!

Mainstream Matt totally rolled in with his Sam Adonis shirt. Best. Birthday. Party. Ever.

Who else watched Wrestle Kingdom 13? We're sharing some of our thoughts.

John Cena is slowly turning into John Laurinaitis.

Mainstream Matt is crushing dreams.

The biggest thing from Wrestle Kingdom 13? Okada's short shorts.

Ibushi and Ospreay are magic.

There are a ton of exclusive contracts in various companies - how will that affect some of the former talent team-ups we've seen?

This week's Big Question:
Part 1: Who was your favorite wrestler when you were 14?
Part 2: Make a match you’d want to see with your 14-year-old wrestler and someone from today’s roster.

We're headed back in time to 2006 - remembering what wrestling was like when the Mayhem Show was born.

Mad Mike unearthed a fan mail from Juggalo Jamie - just for our birthday celebration.

This is the part of the show where Sorg gets weepy and retrospective about all that he's seen as a result of the podcast.

Mayhem Mania is coming. Mainstream Matt is sharing some breaking news about how this year is changing.

This week’s episode brought to you by Slice on Broadway, Occupy Pro Wrestling, and Indy Wrestling US!

Rob Johnston joins us to talk about some Dojo Pro wrestling. He, of course, is joined by our usual stable of ne'er-do-wells including Sorg, Dave Podnar, and Alex Kahrs as they talk this week in wrestling, including:

That's right, we've kidnapped Rob Johnston from the AwesomeCast podcast so we can talk Dojo Pro (among other things).
Extreme Rules was in Pittsburgh, and we are once again reminded why we can't have nice things.
Sorg was so close at Extreme Rules that he almost took a pancake to the face.
Dave heard Steelers chants come through the TV feed for Extreme Rules. Sorg recalls no such chants. Were they piped in? Hmmm.
Things we are thankful for - The Roman Reigns v Bobby Lashley match didn't follow the Iron Man Match at Extreme Rules.
We didn't see Elias in his hometown for Extreme Rules - despite the obvious Pittsburgh references throughout.
Sorg is sad he didn't get an awesome Shinsuke v Jeff Hardy match.
THE CROWD GOT KICKED IN THE BALLS BY SHINSUKE!
Rob can FEEL the wrestling in Nashville.
We're taking a few moments to remember Bruno Sammartino and the history of wrestling.
Speaking of our guest, Rob, it was great seeing him being pushed around in the ring on a Dojo Pro video on Facebook.
Rob Johnston is talking about some of the fun with Dojo Pro.
The biggest message from Rob Johnston - Dojo Pro is bingeable!
Rob has some thoughts on Joey Janela.
It's convenient that we're talking with Rob Johnston on THIS episode.
Rob had a chance to speak with Hulk Hogan a few years back.
Hulk Hogan is not the same as Terry Bollea. It's important to make separations between characters and people.
Some heels get crap from fans for being heels, then Kevin Owens gets the spotlight at a Shania Twain concert.
This week's Big Question: Which wrestling superstar needs to release an album next?
Mad Mike couldn't be here this week - so he sent a Mad Mike Mail!
eFeds are a thing Alex Kahrs is explaining to us.
Sorg is headed to the Gathering of the Juggalos, and he'll be seeing some interesting wrestling.
Joey Janela is apparently facing John Cena at the Gathering of the Juggalos.
What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?

This week’s episode brought to you by Slice on Broadway, Occupy Pro Wrestling, and Indy Wrestling US!

Sorg, Larry, and Mad Mike take us through this week’s wrestling(ish) news, including:

CM Punk is okay, guys.
We may have gone off the rails into some UFC chatter.
The XFL has an update – as in there’s been a commissioner and CEO named.
We swear – this is a wrestling podcast.
Nikki and John are back together! #LoveIsReal
Mad Mike is offering some love advice to John Cena and Nikki Bella this week.
Have you seen the Mauro Ranallo documentary?
Sorg has watched more IMPACT than WWE this week.
Larry has watched nothing but NJPW.
BTW – Have you seen how awesome Ricochet has been lately?
STOP – Mad Mike just put Velveteen Dream over EC3. This is HUGE.
In case you were worried, we confirmed that today is in fact Rusev Day.
This week’s Big Question: What on-screen wrestling relationship did you wish was real?
What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?
Remember that poster we were giving away? We took our list of Patreon supporters, booted up WWE 2K16, and let the bots settle it out. Congratulations to Bradley for winning the Skyscraper poster! Want to catch the Patreon bot fight we used to determine the winner? See it here.

This week’s episode brought to you by Slice on Broadway, Occupy Pro Wrestling, and Indy Wrestling US!

We're back from a week hiatus with Sorg, Larry, and Mad Mike as they talk this week in wrestling, including:

Do you want the good news or the ugly news first?
OH: It's not good, and it's not bad enough to be funny - It's like TNA.
Enzo made a video. For not wanting to talk about it, we're spending some time talking about it.
Because Mad Mike stepped away for a moment, Sorg is taking this time to talk about his return to Impact Wrestling.
When you're good - but not Jim Ross good.
There are some changes coming up in our wrestling.
Thing we didn't realize we need: Chikara to be a Nickelodeon property.

This week’s episode brought to you by Slice on Broadway, Occupy Pro Wrestling, and Indy Wrestling US!

We have a full studio this week as we're joined by Mambo Italiano and Calvin Couture of Golden Chic International. As for the mayhem crew, Mad Mike has returned from WrestleMania, and Sorg and Larry are keeping our guests company in Sorgatron Media studio as we talk about:

Mad Mike is getting us all caught up on his visit to WrestleMania. WMS
If Mambo Italiano is The Miz, does that make Calvin Couture the Miztourage?
What do you get when you have some former WWE stars at a local high school? IWC Wrestling Night of the Superstars! (So we're going to take a moment to talk about some great moments from the show.)
Mambo Italiano appreciated some quality time with Mark Henry, while Calvin Couture had a moment with Jack Swagger at Night of the Superstars.
The BIG news in WWE is the Superstar Shakeup. We caught the RAW shakeup last night, and are catching the Smackdown shakeup results as we're recording this week's podcast.
Mad Mike is suffering from some TNA PTSD with this Superstar Shakeup.
Is Jeff Hardy angling for a Hell in a Cell spot?
It would be more efficient to let us know who's staying where during the Superstar Shakeup.
Dear WWE - Give us visuals on this Superstar Shakeup and tournaments. The NCAA does well with March Madness for a reason. ;)
Now we're on to the big news in WWE this week - the John Cena and Nikki Bella break-up.
Thanks to Mikey and Big Bob for giving us the perfect emotional response to the Nikki Bella and John Cena break-up.
The Miz and Maryse played the long-game in their feud against Nikki Bella and John Cena.
With everyone headed to Smackdown are they going to stretch it to a third hour?
The Greatest Royal Rumble is the same day as The Avengers?!?!?! collective mayhem happy dance
We've found Brock Lesnar's weakness - pancakes.
We're talking about X-Pac's dog!
We're talking a little bit of IMPACT.
Mad Mike loves him some Brian Cage.
The key is to have creativity with just the right amount of a leash from management.
Part of the problem with non-WWE wrestling today is getting yourself out there for your audience to find you.
This week's Big Question: Now that John Cena and Nikki Bella’s engagement is officially off, who will be the rebound?
When Carson Daly becomes relevant during a wrestling discussion.
Mambo Italiano had a moment with Honky Tonk Man a month(ish) ago.
What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?

We couldn’t have planned this week’s in-studio guest any better if we tried. Marcus Mann joins us on the big purple couch to talk about the road to WrestleMania! He’s joined by Rob, Larry, Sorg, Mad Mike, and Mainstream Matt as they talk about:

We’ve got the RYSE Wrestling Head of Talent Relations, Marcus Mann, on the sofa this week!
Sorg was in Florida over the weekend, and had a chance to visit the Hulk Hogan shop down there.
Marcus Mann is sharing some updates about what they’re up to down at RYSE Wrestling. Want to check it out? Head over to www.indywrestling.us
We’ll be getting to some Fastlane and WrestleMania talk shortly. But first – John Cena has a Road to WrestleMania and Marcus couldn’t be happier.
John Cena broke RAW.
We’re breaking down an interesting comparison between John Cena, Hulk Hogan, and Chris Jericho.
It’s the wrestler’s responsibility to take that #1 spot. If someone isn’t taking that spot, then it really belongs to the guy at the top. (In this case John Cena.)
Vince McMahon will not give anyone a Jr. suffix because he feels it is demeaning.
Sorg apparently ran into Paige at an ICP show last week?
Fastlane happened this weekend, and we’ve got a clearer picture about what we’ll be seeing at WrestleMania.
We found out Marcus Mann is apparently a huge Brock Lesnar fan, in addition to being a John Cena fan…and a Chris Jericho fan…
We’re taking a trip down memory lane…to Summer Slam 2002.
You think Brock Lesnar could kill a person – watch him punch Braun Strowman in the face. He’s the closest thing we can get to a Bruiser Brody.
Are we setting ourselves up for disappointment by setting our expectations too high for WrestleMania?
Thanks to The Bar we can no longer take discussions regarding setting the bar seriously.
When ranking WrestleMania events, which one is the “average” by which you should set your expectations by?
It’s time for MayhemMania! Let’s see what havoc we can wreak this week!
It’s getting near time for Patreon in the Bank. Are you a supporter of the show so you can get in on it https://www.patreon.com/wrestlingmayhemshow

We’ve got a super special treat as we’re joined by Chris DeJoseph, Co-Executive Producer of Lucha Underground! As far as our usual host of mayhemmers, we’ve got Sorg, Chad, Larry, Mainstream Matt, Mad Mike, and Bobby F J-Town talking about:

Chris DeJoseph is coming to us FROM the new Lucha Underground temple.
There are some growing pains with Lucha Underground moving to a new temple.
What we’ve learned so far from Chris DeJoseph: Spare no expense when it comes to porta-potties.
Because we’ve got Chris DeJoseph on the line with us, we’re asking for a Lucha Underground and Big Brother mash-up.
There’s a combined Lucha Underground and IMPACT Wrestling show WrestleMania weekend.
We never know who’s going to pop up when we’re live streaming with Chris DeJoseph – like Drago.
We’re putting it out there: Who from Lucha Underground do you want to see make coffee in their underwear with RJ City?
Another very important question about the new Lucha Underground location: We’re learning where the best place(s) to eat are.
Building new temples is hard, yo.
A new temple gives Lucha Underground new, crazy things to think of!
It’s time – FOR MAYHEMMANIA with our special guest Chris DeJoseph.
Mad Mike may have figured out the path for John Cena to get to WrestleMania with his first MayhemMania match-up of the night.
Did Mad Mike dole out his MayhemMania punishment to our guest Chris DeJoseph?!?!?
Did we book Asuka v Brock Lesnar on MayhemMania?
What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?
Elimination Chamber happened. We're sharing thoughts.
Mandy Rose had some firsts...maybe not what she'd like to be known for, though.
